"Find JOY in everyday"

There are many signs and quotes around the OSSO house that past volunteers have put up. By my bed is a sign that reads "find JOY in everyday". Working with these children there is joy in almost every minute. One of the children at Todeo took his first steps today! We have been working with him for awhile and he has finally caught on. I was so proud of him. As volunteer we work a lot with the development of the children because if it wasnt for us they wouldnt get individual attention or very much attention at all. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that their parents dont find joy in raising their child. It makes me sad that they dont get to experience the little things in their childs life. Whether its their first steps, firs word or even first day of school. They dont have a family to be able to experience that with. At the same time we have to remember the orphanages are probably better then their homes and so we have to be the best volunteers we can be and love them unconditionally!
