Day of the Nino!

June first is the day of the Nino! (child) Its a holiday they celebrate in honor of the children. The orphanages celebrate it by taking the kids to different fiestas with other children. We made sugar cookies with the kids at Todeo's Orphanage for our actividad. It was crazy! They loved making the dough into different shapes and putting sprinkles on the frosting. Even though they were covered in flour and dough it was still fun and they were able to taste something from America. After we did some face painting and of course they had to do us as well so I left the orphanage a mess! They also had celebrations and parades for the children all throughout town. This is a holiday that should be celebrated in the States.
